Mk I N3705 MG-F , 7th Sqd

After a mine-laying sortie off Borkum it landed in a boggy field neat Löwenstein Castle at Gorinchem in Holland on August 16, 1942. It had nosed over but was virtually undamaged. The Stirling was moved to the nearby field at Gilze-Rijen, where the nose was patched up with canvas and webbing for a ferry flight to Rechlin. There a more permanent nose fairing was applied.
