In 1936, a variant of the Be.52 aircraft, the Be.56 Beta-Major, was built by Beneš-Mráz . The aircraft  had a reinforced fuselage structure. The aircraft's first flight took place on July 20, 1936.

The aircraft was produced in a single copy (civil registration OK-BEG), which after the division of Czechoslovakia was used by the Slovak Air Force as a training aircraft.
