Etrich-Taube" 40 hp.
Readers of "Flugsport" magazine are familiar with the first "Etrich-Taube" from 1909. During the war, when only military aircraft were built and no value was placed on the aircraft's inherent stability, but only on speed, the "Taube" disappeared in 1915.
Igo Etrich, the designer of the "Taube," has revived his old ideas a few years ago and produced a small two-person aircraft powered by a 40 hp Salmson engine.
This small, inboard-steering limousine has, as the illustration shows, a very high fuselage with side windows and a cabin covered at the front. The wings, in the familiar Zanonia shape, are braced by a strut. The wingtips are twistable instead of flaps.
The pilot's seat is at the front, the passenger seat at the rear. Entry through a side door. Landing gear suspended elastically from the fuselage throughout.
Wingspan 11 m, length 6 m, height 1.8 m, wing area 15 m², ready weight 300 kg, operating radius 800 km, speed 150 km, landing speed 50 km.
