After the FS-1, Ferdinand SCHULZ built the FS-2 in 1921 and decided to enter the Rhön competition. But the glider not having been judged strong enough by the TEKO (Technische Kommission, commission deciding on the aptitude of the gliders to take part in the contest), it was not allowed to compete. However, SCHULZ was able to make some rather convincing demonstration flights: his best flight was 46 seconds, over a distance of 385 meters. He was financially compensated for the expenses incurred to go to the Wasserkuppe.
