The German Bucker Bu-131 training aircraft was produced in Czechoslovakia under the designation Tatra T- 131. Since 1934, the Tatra company has been developing and introducing into mass production engines of its own design, but with the advent of the reliable German Hirth HM-504 engine, it was decided to buy a license for its production. A year later, Tatra acquired a license to build the Bu-131 light training aircraft, launching serial production of a Czechoslovakian copy in 1936. The first 10 aircraft were purchased by the Ministry of National Defense and flew only over the territory of Czechoslovakia, and only one aircraft was in Slovakia at the flying club in Vainory. This aircraft later became part of the Slovak Air Force and was destroyed in 1940. The remaining Czechoslovak aircraft were also provided for use by the Slovaks and were used as training and aerobatic aircraft until the beginning of 1944.
