The last pre-war aircraft designed and built by Zlínská letecká společnost, as (ZLAS) was the light multi-purpose Zlin Z.XV. It could be used as a sports, tourist and training aircraft, both for civilian and military pilots.
The Z.XV was a two-seat wooden low-wing aircraft powered by a Zlin Toma 4 engine producing 105 hp. (77 kW). It was designed by František Pospíšil.
The plane made its first flight not long before the German annexation of Czechoslovakia. It was already tested under the guidance of Luftwaffe officers. In general, the military was satisfied with the aircraft and the company completed another copy. Both Z.XVs were used as trainers in flight schools in occupied
Czechoslovakia.
