Twin-engine multi-purpose aircraft for military use as a successor to the Junkers K 37. The engine system was to consist of two Jumo 5 diesel engines or two Junkers L 10 gasoline engines (the later Jumo 210). The EF 48 was first mentioned in a JFA type development program from February 1933.
