A replacement for the Ju 52, designed as a twin-engine aircraft with a conventional round fuselage nose and a mounted cockpit. Two Jumo 4 diesel engines, aerodynamically well-positioned and remotely driven to the propellers, were to provide power. The EF 49 also appears in the already mentioned JFA type development program from February 1933 only
once again.
