The Junkers EF 009 was a Junkers design for a small single-seater fighter capable of vertical takeoff from a gun carriag
The very small aircraft was to be powered by ten engines (probably rocket engines), four of which were to be located under the fuselage and six on top, just in front of the cockpit. While takeoff was to take place from a vertical launch pad, landing was planned on a retractable nose skid and a fixed keel fin. The design was otherwise conventional, as a cantilever low-wing monoplane with short wings that had a relatively large depth.
Two 30 mm MK 108 automatic cannons were to be mounted offset in the nose. The pilot was positioned prone behind them to cope with the high acceleration, especially during takeoff.
The range was limited due to the planned maximum engine burn time of six minutes; the primary use was probably the protection of potential point targets.
