In 1926 Junkers designers have developed a project for a lightweight naval reconnaissance bomber K.43 based on the W.34 transport aircraft. In connection with the ban on the production of military aircraft, its construction was started in Sweden at the A.B. Flygindustri plant in Limhamn.

It was a three-seater low-wing aircraft equipped with a BMW Hornet engine with a capacity of 525 hp. The defensive armament of the aircraft consisted of originally from a single machine gun turret mounted in the rear fuselage (on the latest models, another front turret, and the number of crew members increased to 4). Light bombs weighing up to 500 kilograms were attached to the underwing suspension units. Instead of of the wheeled chassis on the K.43 floats were used.

Before 1933 about 20 copies of the aircraft were produced. They were supplied in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Finland and Portugal. At the request of customers were also installed on aircraft Gnome & Rhone engines Jupiter IV (420 hp) and Pratt & Whitney Hornet B-1 (575 hp).
