Henschel Flugzeugwerke GmbH, a subsidiary of Kasseler Lokomotivfabrik Henschel & Son, was founded in 1933 in Berlin Joachimsthal by Oscar R. Henschel . The RLM demanded the development and manufacture of aircraft. Since 1934 is the main production facility was at the airport in Schönefeld in Berlin. On 30 March of the same year the Henschel aircraft factory began the work and development of the first  Sturzkampfeinsitzer, the Hs 123 The prototype was shown to the public on 05/08/1935 by Udet. During the Second World War, the Henschel works was one of the most important German arms producers and therefore an important target of bomb attacks . The works were almost completely destroyed, production ended in 1945
